Walking for Mom
The Ohio brothers PAUL and Christian Carey got in gear when their mom was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Paul, 14, and Christian, 13, started Kids 4 Cure to raise money to fight ALS, which affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Their team raised more than $75,000 in this year's Walk to Defeat ALS. "We're gonna keep walking every year until we have a cure," Paul told TFK.
