Clue 1: I was born in Germany in 1829.
Clue 2: I moved from New York City to San Francisco in 1853 during the Gold Rush.
Clue 3: My partner Jacob Davis and I used denim to make the first pair of blue jeans in 1873. We put metal rivets on the pockets for extra strength. The pants became popular with laborers. Today, clothes bearing my name are sold in more than 100 countries.
