Turin 2006: Sliding in Double Time
The sport is called luge, which is French for "sled." But this is no ordinary ride down a hill. Sliding feetfirst on a narrow 60-pound sled, lugers barrel down a curving ice track at more than 80 miles per hour. In Turin, Italy, Mark Grimmette and Brian Martin will team up for the U.S. in the doubles competition. This will be the pair's third Olympics. They have already won silver and bronze medals. The athletes are good friends off the sled too. Will they capture gold together?
