Spotlight: Dolly Akter
For more than 1 billion people worldwide, safe, clean water is a luxury. Dolly Akter, 17, lives in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where poor living conditions and dirty water commonly make people sick. That is why Dolly is working with UNICEF to make sure that her neighbors learn the importance of washing their hands and drinking only boiled water. "Now that my community understands the importance of good hygiene, the people have happier lives," Dolly told TFK. Dolly will share her experiences at the Children's World Water Forum in Mexico City, Mexico, from March 16 to 22. Learn more about the water crisis at timeforkids.com/water.
