The United States trades with many countries around the world. It sells, or exports, some products, and buys, or imports, others.

Canada is the United States' largest trade partner. Last year, more than 85% of the goods Canada exported came to the U.S.

Here are the countries that the U.S. traded with the most in 2005.

1. Canada - $499 billion
2. Mexico - $290 billion
3. China - $285 billion
4. Japan - $193 billion
5. Germany - $119 billion
