Changes at the White House
President George W. Bush is doing some spring cleaning. But it's not his closet he's reorganizing, it's his staff. In the past five weeks, there have been several major changes at the White House. Bush named Joshua Bolten to replace Andrew Card as his chief of staff. Last week, Bush replaced his press secretary, Scott McClellan. The press secretary is the main spokesperson for the White House. Tony Snow, a Fox News commentator, will take over for McClellan.
The shake-up is widely considered an effort to boost Bush's popularity by having new people work with him. Polls show that many Americans are dissatisfied with Bush's work. Last week, a CNN poll of 1,012 adults revealed that only 32% approved of the job that he is doing.
