She's the Anchorwoman
Katie Couric made headlines just by delivering the news. On Tuesday, she appeared as anchor of the CBS Evening News. Couric is the first woman to have a permanent position hosting a network evening news program on her own. Other women, including Elizabeth Vargas, have sat at the anchor desk, but they shared the job with a man. For the past 15 years, Couric was on the morning news show Today, on rival network NBC. She reportedly earns $15 million a year.
