5 Questions for Ashton Kutcher
1 What is Open Season about?
A It's about a domesticated bear who gets kicked out of the city. He's guided through the wilder-ness during hunting season by a one-antlered deer [“Elliot”] who thinks he's the bear's best friend.
2 What attracted you to Elliot?
A I think it was the fact that he had only one antler. We all, in some way, feel like we have only one antler. Like what we have isn't as good as what every-body else has.
3 How well did the animators capture you as Elliot?
A They did a pretty good job. They watched videos of us reading the voices. I was all over the place.
4 What prompts the animals to fight back against the hunters in the film?
A They're trying to save their own lives. I think they secretly do that in real life anyway.
5 Was it hard acting in a sound booth?
A Not for me. I'll be driving and come up with imaginary characters. Sometimes I'll be a rapper, sometimes an angry Polish man. Whatever I feel like today.
