Gnarly Crowd
The surf was way up in Cape Town, South Africa, last week. Seventy-three surfers, ages 7 to 67, wiped out the world record for the most people riding a single wave. They all stayed on for more than five seconds, beating the previous record by 30 wave riders. More than 300 surfers had gathered on the beach to attempt the record to raise money for a shark-spotting program. Now, Guinness World Records needs to check video footage of the surfers to make it official.
