He's Helping Boys and Girls
Stacey Walker, 18, grew up in a violent neighborhood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His mother died when he was 4 years old. The college freshman decided to help others by being a role model and mentor to kids who live in similar situations.
Stacey has been named the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Youth of the Year, and will receive a scholarship for $26,000. "My grandmother is my hero," Stacey told TFK. "She has always been in my corner."
