Halloween, with Heart
Talia Leman, 11, from Iowa, has a few tricks up her sleeve, and a whole
lot of treats, too. Last year, she created Trick or Treat for the Levee
Catastrophe to help people who were affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Instead of candy, trick-or-treaters asked for coins. Talia's effort
raised $5.2 million. This year, as the national youth ambassador for
UNICEF, her goal is to inspire kids to pitch in again. She hopes to
raise money to help people with AIDS in Africa. "I think we have an
obligation to help all human beings," Talia told TFK.
