Her Words Have Wings
Nancy Yi Fan has done a lot in 13 years. When she was 7, her family moved from China to the U.S. She knew almost no English and had to adjust to American life. A few years later, she tackled another task: writing a book. On February 1, Swordbird soars into stores. Nancy spent a year and a half writing the fantasy, which was inspired by her love of birds. “Birds are symbols of peace and freedom,” she told TFK.
