Skating's Goodwill Ambassador
Figure skater Michelle Kwan is used to earning high marks for her jumps and spins. Last week, while visiting schools in China, she received glowing reviews for her work as a diplomat. "She's pretty, outgoing and very nice for a person who is such a star," said Zhang Min, a student at Renmin University high school in Beijing.
As America's first public diplomacy envoy, Kwan's job is to improve the way people in other countries view the U.S. Her only misstep occurred outside a school, where she almost fell. "Off the ice, I'm the biggest klutz," she said.
