Icy weather gripped the northern U.S. last week. But it didn't come close to the world's deep-freeze record. These are the spots that recorded the lowest temperatures ever.

2. TIE Oimekon/Verkhoyansk, Russia -90ºF
3. Northice, Greenland -87ºF
4. Snag, Yukon Territory, Canada -81ºF
5. Ust'Shchugor, Russia -67ºF
