A Young Composer's Dream

Farah Taslima knew nothing about writing music when the New York Philharmonic's teaching program visited her third-grade class in New York City. Now in seventh grade, Farah is an internationally known composer. On February 27, four members of the New York Philharmonic and four North Korean musicians performed a song she wrote, "Serenity Unleashed," in Pyongyang, North Korea. "I never in my entire life dreamed that something like this would happen," Farah told TFK. "It's unbelievable."
