Spotlight: Dionne Quan

When she was a little girl, Dionne Quan loved acting out the characters in her storybooks. Now, as the voice of spunky Kimi on Rugrats, she is a character! Quan, 22, is blind. But that hasn't stopped her from landing her dream job. She started taking acting classes when she was just 7. Originally Quan wanted to perform in plays, but she found it difficult to get jobs. "It just didn't work well for me as a blind person," she says. Quan, 22, found her calling—as a voice-over actress. Her voice can be heard on many commercials. Quan's mom dictates the Rugrats script to her while Quan types it out in braille. Says Quan: "They only hear my voice, so it doesn't matter how I do things."
