A Step Above All the Rest!
There's no way Jonathan Edwards, 12, could slip up on his school science project. He made the Step Ramp, stairs that flatten down into a ramp. His uplifting invention not only makes it easier to move heavy objects up the stairsit helps people in wheelchairs as well. Last month, the Step Ramp earned Jonathan a $10,000 U.S. savings bond in the Craftsman/NSTA Young Inventors Contest! Nearly 3,400 kids entered. The handyman is the national champ in his age group. Says the humble winner: "I thought I'd lose!"
