Q What will you miss most about playing baseball?
A The things I'll miss the most are the camaraderie and being part of a team.
Q What was your most meaningful achievement?
A Being part of a team that won the World Series in 1983 would be the best by far.
Q How do your son Ryan and daughter Rachel feel about your retirement?
A They like it because I'll be around to spend more time with them!
Q You're busy working on the Aberdeen Project. What is it?
A It will consist of a minor league ballpark and a youth baseball academy in Aberdeen, Maryland [Ripken's hometown]. It will be a very special place!
Q What's your advice to kids who dream of playing baseball?
A Learn the game, learn about yourselfand try other sports as well. Have fun!
