Let's Play Ball!
It was a perfect pitch! On October 30, President George W. Bush went out to the ball game at New York City's Yankee Stadium. He threw out the ceremonial first pitch for Game 3 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Bush is a big baseball fan. He played Little League baseball and even was a part owner of the Texas Rangers!
Bush, the first President in 18 years to attend a World Series game while in office, wanted to send the nation a message: Normal life must go on, even during difficult times. Says Yankee manager Joe Torre: "I think he showed a lot of courage and class."
