Blazing a Trail to Glory

On October 27, Brian Robinson reach an all-time high, but not just because he was standing on Mount Katahdin, the highest peak in Maine. After a 10-month-long journey, Robinson now tops the record books. He became the first person to hike each of the three U.S. National Scenic Trails in one year. He also set speed records. "Flyin' Brian" says his supply of sneakers and Snickers helped him complete the nearly 7,400-mile trek. Speeding through 22 states, Robinson didn't have time to pick up souvenirs. Still, he has happy memories of seeing bears, coyotes and wild horses. Says Robinson: "It was exhilarating!"
