Top 5 U.S. States for Volunteering
More than 60 million Americans volunteered 8.1 billion hours of service in 2007. They collected and distributed food. They raised money. They spent their time helping neighbors. Residents of Provo, Utah, offered up the most timeo132 hours, on average, per person. Here are the states where volunteers were most likely to give more than 100 hours of service.
(1) Utah 44% of volunteers gave more than 100 hours
(2) Nebraska 40% of volunteers gave more than 100 hours
(3) Minnesota 40% of volunteers gave more than 100 hours
(4) Alaska 39% of volunteers gave more than 100 hours
(5) Montana 38% of volunteers gave more than 100 hours
