A Real Team Player
Michael Pesci, 18, is pitching in to help kids with disabilities. In 2002, he developed the Perfect Pitch Home-Run Derby. The event, held each spring, raises money to support sports programs for kids with disabilities. Derby participants pay $30 to take a swing for charity. Pesci also raises money with raffles and the sale of memorabilia from baseball greats like Don Larsen and Yogi Berra.
Pesci has raised $150,000. He tells TFK he hopes to stay in the game by "helping as many people as I can, for as long as I can."
