A Giant Book Fair
More than 120,000 book lovers, including TFK Kid Reporter Rebecca Joskow, braved rainy weather to meet their favorite authors and illustrators at the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. The all-day event took place under 11 huge tents on the National Mall on September 26.
This is the ninth year that the Library of Congress festival has taken place. Its purpose: to encourage reading, to celebrate books and to let people know about all the new activities that are being offered at public libraries.
For more on the National Book Festival, and to learn about an incredible yearlong online adventure story, read Rebecca Joskow's full report at timeforkids.com/festival.
