Olympic Spotlight: Todd Eldredge
When former world-champion figure skater Todd Eldredge returned to competition after a two-year break, some fans thought he was skating on thin ice. But Eldredge is determined to win an Olympic medal, a prize that has eluded him in two trips to the Games. Last week in Los Angeles, California, fancy footwork, spins and triple jumps earned Eldredge, 30, his sixth U.S. Figure Skating Championship title and a spot on the Olympic team. He beat Tim Goebel, 21, and Michael Weiss, 25. Both will also compete in the Salt Lake City games. "To those who said I was too old," says Eldredge, "well, I did it!"
