She's a Dog's Best Friend
Casting canines can be ruff but rewarding, says Stacy Basil, the animal coordinator for the movie Snow Dogs. Disney's Dogs follows the adventures of a mischievous team of sled dogs. "I had to find about 45 Siberian huskies all over the U.S. and Canada," says Basil, who rescued some of them from shelters. The big-screen bowwows found homes with some of their 18 trainers, who helped Basil teach the huskies to "do everything Lassie could do, plus pull a sled," she says.
