Deserts are the driest places on the planet, with only about 10 inches of rain a year. Some deserts are hot, like the Sahara in Africa, and some are cold, like the Gobi in Asia. Deserts are found in every continent except Europe. Here are the largest deserts in the world.
1. Sahara (in Africa): 3.5 million square miles
2. Arabian (Asia): 1 million square miles
3. Australian: 570,000 square miles
4. Gobi (Asia): 500,000 square miles
5. Kalahari (Africa): 225,000 square miles
