He Makes Pretty Pennies!
Robert Massengale of Lubbock, Texas, is counting and cleaning 7.6 million pennies! The new coins, which were headed to the Federal Reserve in San Antonio, became virtually worthless after they were covered in mud during a traffic accident in October. Massengale is using screens and cleaning fluid to do a dirty job: making the coins usable again. A penny for his thoughts? "It was an unusual situation," he says.
