From Rags to Riches
Being a toy is not all fun and games. Just ask Raggedy Ann. The floppy doll has made kids smile for 87 years, but she couldn't seem to make it into the National Toy Hall of Fame in Salem, Oregon. Raggedy Ann had been nominated four times but lost out to such toys as Barbie and Mr. Potato Head. Finally, on March 27, after thousands of fans sent letters on her behalf, Raggedy Ann joined the Hall of Fame."I'm almost in tears," said lifelong fan Marnie Rutherford. "It's just fabulous."
