It’s apple season! Did you know that the U.S. harvests more apples than any country except China? Red Delicious apples are the most popular of the 2,500 different varieties grown in America. That’s a lot of applesauce! Here are the states that produced the most apples in 2001.
1. Washington: 121 million bushels2. New York: 23.8 million
3. Michigan: 20.9 million
4. California: 16.6 million
5. Pennsylvania: 11 million
