Young Sailor Has a Whale of a Tale

It was a winning finish, though he lost the race. On January 12, SEBASTIAN CLOVER, 15, became the youngest sailor ever to cross the Atlantic Ocean alone. He sailed 3,000 miles, from Spain's Canary Islands to the Caribbean island of Antigua. He began training for the voyage three years ago, after his dad suggested they race each other. They set out in separate boats on December 19. Along the way, Sebastian had to deal with killer whales. One followed him to the end. "We became friends," he said.
