Spotlight

At age 13, SOLANGE KNOWLES took a job as a backup dancer and toured the world with Destiny's Child, her big sister Beyonce's singing group. Beyonce helped her write and produce the title song for the Scooby-Doo movie soundtrack. Now Solange, 16, is taking center stage. Her debut CD, Solo Star, was released last week! "Solo is a nickname for Solange," says the singer. "I wanted to make a statement that I could be successful just being myself." The CD features the hit song "Feelin' You" and other R&B-based songs, some of which Solange helped write. She says big sis offered her shining advice about stardom: "Follow your heart and stay humble."
