A Gift of Books
When LEA STEINER, 11, heard that many kids in Kenya didn't have books, she got busy. The Boise, Idaho, girl collected 600 books. A $500 award from the National Education Association and Youth Service America will help her send them to Kenyan kids. Lea and fellow students also plan to send handmade books about themselves. She says she hopes to learn "about their lives too."
