A Family Tradition Sings On
The hills are alive with the sound of the VON TRAPP CHILDREN. Melanie, 12, Sofia, 14, Amanda, 11, and Justin, 7, are the great-grandkids of Captain Georg von Trapp. His famous singing family inspired the film The Sound of Music. The new group has released a CD that includes songs from the movie. In July, the kids will portray their relatives onstage in North Carolina. Amanda knows the story well because, she says, "I've watched the movie 30 times!"
