What Is This? Give Up? It's Lake Superior
Every winter, ice "dunes" pile up on the shore of Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota. Usually, they extend from a few feet to a few hundred yards into the lake. This winter has been so cold that the lake is frozen as far as the eye can see. Lakes Huron and Erie are also about 90% frozen. Officials say the ice may delay the spring start of the shipping season.
