A Joey with a Glow
Kangaroos are so common in Australia that they outnumber humans almost two to one. But zookeepers in Kernhof, Austria, are saying that the zoo's newborn 'roo is rare! The KANGAROO JOEY, shown here with mom Kimberley, is one of a very small number of albino kangaroos. Albino (al-bye-no) creatures have no pigment, the substance that gives living things their color. Albino animals usually don't last long in the wild because they are easily seen by predators. This special joey is sure to have a safe, hoppy life at the zoo!
