Kickin' It in College
On August 31, University of New Mexico football player Katie Hnida, 22, kicked her way into the record books. She became the first woman to score in a Division 1-A football game. That's no small feat--1-A college football is highly competitive. Hnida's two-point kick made the 72-8 smash victory of her team, the Lobos, even more impressive. This is not Hnida's first trip into the record books. At a bowl game last year, she became the first woman in her college division ever to take the field. Hnida says she would be having a ball even if she weren't breaking records: "It's never been about making history. It's just about kicking. I love football so much."
