What's Up, Kid Doc?
Like many 12-year-olds, SHO YANO loves to read and play piano. But instead of just having started seventh grade, Sho is studying to be a doctor. He's the youngest student ever to attend the University of Chicago Medical School, in Illinois. "They treat me like a little brother," Sho says of his much older classmates, who have now become his friends. Sho graduated from college last year, but says his smarts are no big deal. Though he jokes that his friends sometimes treat him like "a walking dictionary," Sho says, "I'm not some kind of unapproachable monster. I'm a regular kid."
