Hacker Update
In February, some of the Web's biggest sites--eBay, Yahoo and CNN-- came crashing down after being flooded with messages (see A Web Hack Attack, 2/25). Days later, someone using the screen name "Mafiaboy" went online to brag about causing the crashes. The FBI tracked him down. Mafiaboy turned out to be a 15-year-old boy in Montreal, Canada. Last week he was arrested for his possible role in the CNN crash. If he is charged as an adult, he could face 20 years in prison.
