Saving the Turtles
Sea turtles have been around for 180 million years, but all eight species of the turtles are endangered today. Lolly Westervelt, 13, is doing her part to help them survive. She volunteers at a center on Topsail Island, North Carolina, that cares for injured turtles. Last month Lolly attended a sea-turtle conference in Florida. "Sea turtles can use all the help they can get," she says.
