Winner's Circle: Christopher Paul Curtis
The nation's librarians have made their choice! Bud, Not Buddy, by Christopher Paul Curtis, wins the Newbery Medal, awarded by the American Library Association to the year's best children's book. Curtis also received the Coretta Scott King Author Award, which goes to authors whose work helps kids appreciate the American Dream.
