Explosions Rock Baghdad
Last week was a tough one for the people of Baghdad, Iraq's capital. A series of explosions killed 40 people, including two U.S. soldiers. The office of the International Red Cross was bombed.
The Red Cross, the United Nations and Doctors Without Borders said they were withdrawing their international workers from the city. The Red Cross promised to stay in other areas of Iraq. But the moves harm U.S. efforts to rebuild Iraq. Secretary of State Colin Powell had asked the Red Cross to remain in Baghdad. "If they are driven out, then the terrorists win," he said.
