By the Numbers
Is your school getting crowded? This fall about 50 million kids will enter U.S. schools, the most in history. Some are immigrants or their kids. Many are grandchildren of baby boomers (the huge number of Americans born in the 19 years after World War II). Enrollment could hit 53.5 million in 2005.
