It’s a Gray, Wrinkled Girl!
Every new mom thinks her baby is special. But Luyisa, a rare East African black rhinoceros, truly has reason to brag. On August 26 at the Kansas City Zoo, she gave birth to a 65-pound female calf. Only 500 of the endangered animals are left in the wild. The unnamed babe follows her mom around all the time. Zoo worker Conrad Schmitt says, "She’s doing exactly what we would want her to do."
