Lady Luck Strikes The Grammys

Singer Lauryn Hill did that thing, that thing, that Grammy-winning thing last week. The hip-hop star and mother of two won five Grammy Awards for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, a hit album that mixes rap with rhythm and blues.

Hill, 23, set a record for most Grammys won by a female artist in one year. She was also the first hip-hop artist to win Album of the Year. "This is crazy," said Hill, "because it's hip-hop music!"

It was a big night for female singers across the board. Among the winners: Celine Dion, the Dixie Chicks, Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain and Madonna, whose album Ray of Light got three awards.

Said Madonna, whose only previous Grammy was for a video: "I've been in the music business 16 years. It was worth the wait."
