Discovery Blasts Off
"Let the wings of Discovery lift us on to the future." With those words from NASA launch control, space shuttle Discovery roared up into the blue Florida sky last Thursday. The seven-member crew includes John Glenn, who in 1962 was the first American to orbit the Earth. Among the thousands who attended the launch: President Clinton, Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio. Discovery is expected to return on November 7.
