World Series: Yanks Vs. Padres
Way to go, San Diego Padres! For the first time in 14 years, their team is in the World Series. Last Wednesday, they beat the Atlanta Braves 5-0 in the sixth playoff game to grab the National League title.
Now they face the New York Yankees. With 114 regular-season victories, the Yanks have had one of the best years in baseball history. "Hopefully we can wrap it up in four" games, boasted Yankee pitcher David Wells.
Not so fast! "We have waited a long time," said Padres outfielder Tony Gwynn. "I'm going to tell you now, we want to win."
