Update: A Darn Good Lake
It was Great while it lasted. Lake Champlain, on the border of Vermont and New York, was a Great Lake for 18 days. But last week Senate members changed their mind. They voted to remove it from the official list of Great Lakes. Champlain shares some environmental problems with the five Great Lakes, so scientists wanted to use money set aside for the Great Lakes to study Champlain. But Champlain is much smaller than the other lakes. Environmentalists will still get the research funds. Isn't that great?
