Spotlight: Jamar Beasley
Jamar Beasley of Fort Wayne, Indiana, really knows how to dribble--down a soccer field or a basketball court. He's been a star at both sports since he was 6. But Jamar, 18, had to make a tough choice: College hoops or professional soccer? He just signed with a Major League Soccer team, the New England Revolution, and will be the youngest player in MLS. "People might think that as the youngest, I'm not good enough or big enough," he says. "But I can make an impact!"
Jamar insists that turning pro won't turn him away from pals or school. He plans to teach one day and will attend college while playing soccer. He told TFK, "I'm still the same old Jamar."
