Spotlight: J. Evan Bonifant
As one of the stars of the new movie Blues Brothers 2000, J. Evan Bonifant, 12, got to belt out blues songs with legends like Bo Diddley and B.B. King. Don't recognize those names? Don't worry. Neither did Evan! "My mom had to tell me who they were," says Evan, a regular TFK reader.
In the movie, which is a sequel to a 1980 film, Evan plays an orphan who tags along with original Blues Brother Dan Aykroyd. Besides singing and dancing, Evan also had to perfect the superserious, supercool "Blues Brothers" face. "The director told me to keep a straight face, even if Dan was telling a joke," he says. "But it wasn't just a face--it was an attitude."
