Spotlight: Micaela Hebert
ABC's Saturday-morning cartoon Science Court shows the laws of science at work--in a courtroom. Loopy lawyer Doug Savage uses scientific ideas, such as the law of gravity, to win cases. But he often needs help from wise Micaela, played by real-life second-grader Micaela Hebert.
"I like science," says Micaela, 8, who lives in Belmont, Massachusetts. Adult actors often provide voices for kids on cartoons, but producer Tom Snyder wanted a real kid on Science Court. Micaela, who was never in show business before, still finds it a little weird to hear her own voice on TV. "It's coming out of the mouth of somebody who doesn't look like me!" she says.
